General NOTES:
All indoor presentations will be held in the conference room at MOAB VALLEY INN.
BE ON TIME! We have packed a lot into a short amount of time and don’t want to start without you, but we will!
Bruce Hucko Photography/MPS25! reserves the right to modify event and workshop itineraries based on local or federal restrictions beyond our control (site or road closures, government shutdowns, presenter absence, etc). Should a registrant choose to cancel because of these changes, our standard cancellation policy applies (see registration page).
Afternoon Workshops - -- are under the control of the individual leaders. Some may want to visit with their crew indoors before heading out. Some may come in late for photoJAM because evening light is just too good. (We’ll save pizza for you!). We have a full and busy schedule so PLEASE, abide by the times indicated. Attending MPS is not a vacation, it’s work! Happy and joyful work, but work nonetheless. MPS believes work to be a verb and abides by the Oxford dictionary definition: “to be engaged in physical or mental activity in order to achieve a result; do work. We look forward to engaging you, and expect you to reciprocate! Yes!
Workshops will initially meet at designated spaces in the conference room or outside to gather, share afternoon plan and decide on carpooling.
WE ENCOURAGE CARPOOLING AND HOPE YOU'LL TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. Besides, it’s a great way to make new photo-friends!
Two tips -
1- To keep things rolling smoothly, please prepare your workshop pack the night before! Camera Equipment, Water, Clothing, Snacks
2- If your'e driving your own or renting a vehicle, high clearance is most helpful, 4WD is not necessary for most workshop locations.
photoJAM!
After your workshop there is no need to worry about getting cleaned up and then having to wait for a table at a restaurant. Lay down your pack, wash your face (optional) and join us in the conference room for photoJAM! led by Master of Ceremonies Mike Hayden. This is YOUR 15-minutes-of-fame moment. Before the symposium create a slide show, a movie, or a string of your favorite images in Powerpoint to share with fellow attendees. Put it on a thumb drive. Let's see what you've got! MPS provides Zax pizza, Black Box wine, Moab Brewery beer and soft drinks!
We do not have room for the framed image exhibit of the past. MPS encourages you to bring prints to share during PHOTOjam! You may also want to trade or sell your work during the symposium and MPS supports and allows that. Just make your deals on your own time. We’ll provide some “print viewing tables” along the back and side of the conference room to facilitate this.
